MFA laptop and phone
- IF YOU PREVIOUSLY SETUP THE AUTHENTICATOR UP ON ANY DEVICE
- CHANGED PHONE
- RESET YOUR PHONE/DEVICE
- UNINSTALLED/ REINSTALLED THE APP
- ALTERED YOUR ACCOUNT ON THE AUTHENTICATOR APP IN ANY WAY
- PREVIOUSLY WERE GETTING 2 DIGIT CODE BUT NOW THE AUTHENTICATOR APP IS NOT GIVING YOU THE OPTION TO ENTER THE 2 NUMBERS
YOU NEED TO CONTACT THE ITSERVICEDESK.MIDWEST@TUS.IE TO GET YOUR AUTHENTICATION RESET BEFORE YOU CAN RESET UP THE AUTHENTICATOR APP.
- On your laptop sign into Moodle.midwest.tus.ie with your TUS email, and password.
Once you have you will be shown a screen saying
‘More information required’
On this screen click next
- You will be shown the below 2 screens. You need to click Next on both of them.
- You will be shown a QR code on your laptop screen.
On you Mobile Phone – Open the Microsoft Authentication App

If the app gives you the option, select ‘Add Account’
If the app doesn’t give you the option to add account on the top right of the app please click either a + sign or click the three dots.

Click ‘Work or School Account’
Select ‘Scan a QR Code’
Using the Mobile Phone scan the QR Code displayed on your second device.
Once you have scanned the QR code a test notification will appear on your phone
Depending on the type of phone you have you will have you will need to do the following:
1. Select the number shown on screen from the options available on your authenticator app and click approve
OR
2. Enter the number shown on screen into your authenticator app and click approve.
